To contribute to a safer and more reliable trade finance environment, UBAF provides a new certification service: Trakk by KOMGO.
KOMGO was founded in Geneva in 2018 by the main players in international commodity trading, including Crédit Agricole, to digitize and transform this centuries-old industry.
Trakk is a KOMGO tool that increases the security of digital documents exchanged via email or other electronic means.
On November 17, UBAF attended the Partners and Companies Day organised by the Franco-Arab Chamber of Commerce at the Maison des Polytechniciens.
This was an ideal opportunity for UBAF to present and promote its main activity, Trade Finance, and its 51 years of expertise, to 70 participants: companies (Veolia, Transdev, Anteagroup, Merlin Group, Aqualter, Business France, etc.) and representatives of embassies and institutional partners.
In line with the Crédit Agricole Group's rating, which is now rated A+ Stable, this upgrade enables UBAF to position itself even more favorably with institutional depositors at a time when the financing of our commercial activities is growing strongly and should continue to do so in 2022.
The Board of Directors met on May 28 and has nominated Mr. Tarek Amer (Governor of the CBE since 2015 and former Permanent Representative of the CBE at the Board of UBAF in 2016) as the new President of UBAF.
Mr. El Okdah, former Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), served as Chairman of UBAF for 14 years and resigned at his own request.

In relation to the facility for guarantees previously granted to SAIPEM, UBAF informs it has issued a Performance bond on behalf of its client, with regards to the Saint Brieuc Offshore Wind Farm Project awarded to SAIPEM on July 2020.
